I'm in a good mood. You know that song-in-progress I've been talking about? I finished it tonight. Actually, Tuesday night—it's well past midnight as I type this.
It's taken months to complete. Despite the advice of many experts who tell you to write at least one song a week, I tend to go slow.
And yet ... this is my 60th song. I have now written 60 songs.
Is that a lot? Or are there actually people out there who write 52 songs a year?

I'm sure there are people who write hundreds of songs a year. I can't imagine they're all good. Quality over quantity is a very valid approach. :)
Yay! I think we write at our own pace and that's just super-fine and dandy!
You are way more prolific than I!!
Oh, and even Bruce Springsteen only records, like, 1 of 4 he writes.
I completely agree, quality over quantity is definitely more important IMO. I used to beat myself up over not writing/mixing quick enough but as I mature musically I realize speed isn't important. Unless you're in a timed competition for some odd reason...
I've always wondered about the quantity vs. quality thing. It's easy enough to believe that people cranking out hundreds of songs only produce about as many *good* songs as I do. But I have no data. Maybe I should take a poll. :)
